Hrikin Renaud belonged to a family that had given a long list of Generals, Commanders and soldiers. The Renauds traced their history to Ajay Renaud, who had served as a General in the army of the First King of Sahasyasth. They were one of the richest and most prominent families in Sahasyasth.

 

However, after the loss to the Pragyas a hundred years ago, the empire of the Vatyas had begun to dwindle. They had lost the respect and support of the people. They lingered on the throne only with the help of the Renauds, who had enough influence to control the army and the nobles. But this was before Vritra Manu(More about Vritra coming soon), the son of Indra Manu, went on a rampage. He wished to conquer Illume, and in his desire to achieve it, he defeated the Sahasyas in numerous wars. Hrikin who at the time was the same age(20's) as Vritra, was ordered to stop his advance. He faced him in a fierce battle but suffered a crushing defeat before fleeing for his life. After the crumbling of the Manus, Vatyas were finally usurped by Hrikin's father, Bali Renaud. 

 

Years passed by, but Hrikin never forgot the humiliation he had faced at the hands of Vritra. The loss even closed his doors to the throne when his father, Bali, made his elder son, Avir, the crown prince.

 

When the story starts, Bali is already dead, and Sahasyasth was ruled by the Avir Renaud. Hrikin was now a General who despised his brother-King. He believed Avir was a weak ruler with no knowledge of war. And it was this hatred that was going to sow the seeds of an incoming war that would change the course of Illume.

But Hrikin was also behind something else. He craved a legendary weapon, and on the pretext of saving Sahasyasth against the Trishuls in the South, he was brewing something dangerous.

 

What Hrikin had in store? He would be a crucial character who would change the future of Illume.
