Revanta is a minor Hindu Deity who finds discrete references in the Vedas. Numerous stories try to describe the origins of Revanta. But she is usually described as the riding God whom God Surya assigned the duty of protecting mortals from robbers at secluded places.

Legends of Revanta mentions that she was born from God Surya and was worshipped by many communities till the medieval period. In 'Illume, Ashes and The Wind', readers would find regular mentions of Revanta, who would guide, protect and fight on the side of our heroes. Her legends would somehow find its roots in the world of Illume, where she is described as the fastest and the most trustworthy horse.

As Illume is an ancient name of Earth, one could hardly miss this courageous diety not playing an important role in our history. Horses were the backbone of the old world, and even though we have heard stories about many legendary horses, we have always left out the God of all horses, Revanta.
